Christmas Time Is Here

“Christmas Time is Here” was written by Vince Guaraldi for the 1965 animated television special A Charlie Brown Christmas. Pressed for time just weeks before the show first aired, he wrote the song in fifteen minutes on the back of an envelope! Even though it was written hastily, the song went on to become an endearing Christmas favorite.
 
The original harmonies and holiday mood of the original instrumental recording are retained in this arrangement, wonderfully scored for intermediate string orchestra by L. C. Harnsberger. The melody is passed to every section, making all the parts interesting to play. Everyone is in a comfortable range with first violins briefly moving into third position.
