Description
Carlo Gesualdo composed “Mercè grido piangendo” as part of his 5th book of madrigals in 1611. Despite being composed at the end of the Renaissance, his works sound strikingly modern. Originally scored for five voices, this brass quintet arrangement skillfully incorporates expressive phrasing and dynamics, enhancing the music’s emotional depth.
