Description
“The Great Pumpkin Waltz” was written by Vince Guaraldi for the 1966 animated television special It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and was performed by the Vince Guaraldi Sextet that featured the composer on piano. The waltz is featured throughout the show. Guaraldi also composed the timeless scores for two other Peanuts animated specials: A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1963 but never aired), and A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965).
The original jazz-waltz feel is retained in this arrangement, wonderfully scored for horn quartet by L. C. Harnsberger. The easily recognizable melody is perfect for holiday recitals, but will also be a gem in a performance anytime of the year.
